Class: Aves Order: Passeriformes Family: Turdidae Genus and species: Myrmecocichla aethiops Common name: Northern anteater chat Very common in the dry grasslands of the central and northwestern Highlands. Despite its general dark colour, in flight shows a large white patch on each wing, concealed when at rest. This feature makes it easy to differentiate from other black or dark birds of the same size. Usually forms small groups.
