Class: Aves Order: Falconiformes Family: Sagittariidae Genus and species: Sagittarius serpentarius Common name: Secretary bird Unmistakable aspect. It is usually found in pairs, walking through the grasslands, cultivations or open savannah, searching for snakes and other prey such as small mammals and large insects. It is territorial. Found mainly in the central and southern regions, though can occasionally appear in the arid north.
