Widespread throughout Kenya except in the west, southwest, central Highlands and south coast. Inhabits scrub, bush and open woodlands below 1,500 m. Unmistakable by its crest and colouring. Sexes are distinguished by the bill's colour, green in the female (as in the picture) and black in the male. Eats fruit and forms disperse groups that fly from tree to tree. It is noisy, its name comes from a call that sounds like "go-away!".
